vintage lenses

From time to time I like to step away from the extreme attention to details and sharpness that I often require of my lenses and camera. Vintage lenses are a great way for me to change the way I usually work, challenging my creative process and allowing me to look at things with a different perspective.

The manual focus, the softness and peculiar colour fringing give a very distinct character to the images, almost dream-like at times.

Sometimes I bring the images into Lightroom for a full edit, other times I shoot directly in .jpeg format, freeing myself from all of the post processing and just focusing on composition and colours. Sometimes that run-and-gun way of shooting is just what I need to spark new creative ideas.
